Carol & Steve's wedding took place at the West Lodge Park Hotel near Enfield, and was a fantastic occasion made even better for me due to this being the second wedding I've photographed for this family (having previously photographed Carol's son Jamie's wedding to Nicola last year!). I was originally only booked to cover the ceremony part, but as soon as it was finished the bride asked me to stay for the reception. The ultimate last minute booking, but I was very happy to oblige!
This beautiful occasion was complimented with contemporary detailing decorating the 18th Century venue, and it looked brilliant. Laughter rang out throughout the civil ceremony, especially when the Geordie groom Steve read out the "...why I..." section of his vows resulting in a bride, registrar and entire congregation doubled over for several minutes!
I really enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces amongst the guests, and made sure I got a group shot of Nicola & Jamie's family one year after our previous meeting. As I wasn't expecting to be at this venue for as long as I was, I was concerned that my batteries wouldn't be sufficient to cover a whole half-day, but I'm pleased to report that they lasted until well after the first dance, so I was able to photograph even the latest coming evening guest!
Congratulations to Carol & Steve, your's was an occasion to remember!
