There's nothing like retuning to a particular venue over and over again, and this wedding provided such an experience as I once again got to visit Leatherhead Registry office to photograph a ceremony. On the 4th June, this was for Lindsay & John's wedding, a lovely and friendly couple with two children, who seem absolutely made for each other.
Lindsay arrived in style, in a unique red 1950's Cadillac with the roof down! This vehicle was a true show stopper and was perfectly in keeping with their personalities - I made sure I took up the opportunity to take loads of photos of it glistening in the sunshine!
One thing I have always liked about Leatherhead is how much lovely natural light the ceremony room lets in thanks to it's enormous sash windows and adjoining conservatory. This allows me to shoot almost entirely without flash during the ceremony producing a wonderful natural feel and keeping my presence down to a minimum. It boasts very pretty gardens too, which appear to have been designed with photography in mind, and provide the photographer with suitable elevation for group shots of all sizes.
The reception took place at Oakley's "The Inn on the Green", a traditional pub and restaurant in a quaint village setting. It's low beige ceilings and generous garden area are also ideal for a variety of different reception shots, allowing a mix of wide bounce flash and natural illumination. Also present was a pub dog, who was more than happy to let anyone have a cuddle!
The reception itself was a very lively affair, and I am pleased with how the shots came out. Lindsay and John's guests were a friendly bunch who were more than happy to be photographed, even during the dancing! I even managed to get some shots of a 'dance off' between two guests, as well as a conga line, and every possible combination of guest together that I could :). Was very grateful to be able to have a sample of the very tasty BBQ too!
Below are some examples of my favourite shots from the day:
