Ruth and Stan were married in mid-April at Layer Marney Tower, a fabulously characteristic 16th Century building in Colchester, Essex. This venue is very rich in history, having been built during the reign of Henry VIII, and once serving as the largest example of a gatehouse in England.
The ceremony was simply beautiful, with a harpist soundtracking the occasion in a wonderful hall. Ruth and Stan had requested more 'classic/romantic' images, and I worked with the venue itself to produce them. I'm particularly happy with the images captured within the great hall, of which the enormous windows no doubt assisted with. I'm also so pleased with the way the outdoors couple's shoot came out - I used the Tower itself as the background (as well as the stunning gardens) and am really happy with the results!
As a side note, we were joined after the ceremony by the Tower's Cat! This friendly guy was only too happy to be made a fuss of so of course I grabbed a shot!
This wedding was shot as part of my Ceremony Only package, which is £295 and includes prints, a CD and a web gallery to share with friends and family. However, Ruth and Stan have also purchased a lovely hardback printed wedding album from me, which is a service I am very much looking forward to introducing as an extra very soon! (keep your eyes peeled!).
Below are some of my favourite images from the day;
